We hope everyone had a wonderful holiday and happy new year! We apologize for the (very unintentional) hiatus- we have been wrapped up in all the holiday magic over here! Fortunately, we have nothing but good news to share.

Our favorite gift this year came a few days before Christmas. After a pretty rough round of chemo, Rita started feeling better and began to regain her appetite and energy. It was the Christmas miracle we were hoping for, and it got everyone in the spirit.

We had a wonderful Christmas, filled with matching PJs, good food, and family. I mean, that's what it's all about, right? For the first Christmas ever, Rita had ALL of her children (and her grandchild!) under one roof. (Covid-free, of course.) It was a pretty special day and one that we won't soon forget.

The holiday magic carried us straight through to the new year! Rita started her 3rd chemo treatment on the 28th. The main goal right now is for Rita to continue to rebuild her strength and gain weight. So, they lowered her chemo dose by about 20% for this round. This has really helped with her side effects (especially nausea). She didn't lose her appetite, has been able to stay extremely hydrated, and also been able to keep everything down.

All in all, we finished out 2020 strong and came into 2021 even stronger. We have some pretty big goals for this new year and we are ready to continue this fight together! Rita will begin her 4th round of chemo on the 11th, so be on the lookout for another update!

Happy New Year!
